I was so excited and honored to be able to capture the proposal of our two good friends, Chris and Mandy this past weekend! Chris has been a close friend of Justin and I for a long time! When he introduced us to Mandy we instantly loved her! It has only been a few months since I’ve known her but it feels like much longer…and of course we immediately clicked because Mandy also does photography!

We all took a trip up to Wintergreen this past weekend for a little getaway and headed out on Saturday to hit a bunch of wineries and breweries! Eight of us crammed into an SUV (which was only supposed to seat five) and we hit the road! We had great weather (even though we didn’t see the sun…at least it wasn’t raining right?!) and even better company! Although there was no official plan (besides that the proposal was going to happen at Afton Mountain Vineyards) everything worked out as if we had planned it down to the last detail!!

As we excitedly walked up to Afton Mountain Vineyards we were stopped at the door because we had a large party. Their tasting rooms were packed so they were limiting the tasting groups to only six people. Right away Mandy offered for Chris and herself to just sit this one out and said they would walk around the beautiful property to site see. The rest of the group headed through the doors and we were all freaking out because this would be the perfect time for Chris to pop the question! We scurried through the crowded room of others waiting to be called for their tasting and headed out the back door onto the patio just in time for me to change out my lens for the telephoto and start shooting!! Mandy had NO IDEA this was going to happen and was so surprised!! 😀

As they walked back up to the patio to join us, complete strangers cheered and congratulated them and a very nice gentlemen gave them a bottle of wine! Even though I was flustered trying to get myself and my camera setup to get shots of the proposal, I managed to capture some great moments! Congratulations Mandy & Chris, you are two of the sweetest people I know, and thank you for letting me capture this life changing moment!! I am so happy for you both!!
