boutique editing

download the editing guide

I know how scary just the thought of handing over your photos to someone else to put the finishing touches on them sounds. I mean, WHO does that?! You might be surprised, but most of the top photographers I know outsource their editing: Katelyn James, Hope Taylor, & Susan Stripling, just to name a few. They have all raved about how outsourcing their editing allowed them to grow their business like crazy!

I offer boutique editing services so photographers can improve their work/life balance, gain consistency, improve their client experience and have more opportunities to grow their businesses. I work with you one-on-one to master your signature style.

Editing is a skill I've acquired after editing my own photos for over 5 years. I am also a graduate of the Katelyn James Consistency Course which helped me establish practices to achieve consistent edits across my portfolio.

Why you should hire

a private editor?

focus more on what you love

Most of the photographers I know thrive behind the camera, interacting with their clients and capturing beautiful moments, so why are you spending so many hours behind your computer editing thousands of photos? A survey revealed that 53% of wedding photographers spend more than 8 hours on editing one wedding. Outsourcing to a private editor allows you to take on more shooting jobs, doing what you love the most. Not to mention, you get so much of your time back by handing over the tedious task of editing to an expert. Just shooting 21 weddings per year adds up to an entire week of 24 hours days you spend on editing! That is 7 full days editing for 24 hours straight! You have so many better things to do with your time than spending it in Lightroom.

gain consistency

Photographers who have tried big box editing companies have found they don't get the consistency in their edits that they would achieve by editing themselves. That is because at most big companies you have more than one person working on your editing jobs. How are multiple editors going to give you consistency when they don't have the time to nail your signature style? This results in an unhappy photographer who has to spend more time editing their photos once they received them back from the big box company. Relieve the stress of having to redo edits by working with private editor. When you work with me, you know I am working on every gallery and you have a direct line of communication with me. If there are any issues you can let me know what changes I need to make in order to maintain a consistent style and to better serve you. I always make sure to double check consistency throughout every gallery before final delivery.

better client experience

If you have ever been a bride, you know how agonizingly long the days and weeks drag by after your wedding while you are anxiously awaiting your images to be delivered. So many times I have seen photographers get behind on editing. They’re overwhelmed with the amount of work they have to do to complete a wedding gallery, so they put it off until they’re having to rush to deliver it within the very last week of the promised turnaround time. One of my main goals is to help you provide a better client experience for your couples. When we work together, we will establish the perfect schedule for you that will help keep delivery times short. My average turnaround time for catalogs is 5 – 7 business days, so you will be able to get galleries back to your clients quickly, you’ll never have to worry about falling behind again and most importantly, you will impress your clients!

more time with family & friends

My guess is you went into business for yourself to create a more flexible lifestyle. You want to have more time to spend with your family and friends, freedom to take days off, and even :gasp: spend some time on yourself! Not only do you deserve all of that, it is possible! Let me help you get your life back (and possibly even your sanity) by letting me edit your images exactly the way you would, in your signature style that you worked years to perfect.

make a new friend

Being an entrepreneur can be lonely, stressful and isolating. I would love to become your friend in this wonderful world of creatives. Let me be your shoulder to lean on during stressful busy seasons, because everyone needs that support!
