Katie & Jinx
Equestrian Session - Chesterfield, VA

Katie, with her brother, her horse and her dog were so much fun during their winter equestrian session with Great Dane! First of all, her horse, Jinx, is such a handsome boy and super sweet. I knew her Great Dane, Titan, and I would get along just fine when he sat in my lap when I first met him haha! After all, real lapdogs take up your WHOLE lap, and that’s exactly what Titan did. He isn’t even full grown yet. I can’t wait to see how beautiful he is when he finishes filling out and believe it or not, gets taller!

It was pretty cold on this December day but we had plenty of sun and a beautiful farm in Chesterfield, VA as our backdrop. This was my first session in Chesterfield. It is such a beautiful area just a short drive from Hampton Roads. The farm was so well kept and such a great location for Katie’s pictures with Jinx and Titan. They had a nicely heated lounge where we could warm up when we got too cold.

Katie used these pictures as a Christmas present for her mom so I’ve been counting down the days until I could share them on the blog. Capturing these photos was such an honor and I know this family will look back on them for years to come. Photos with your animals are truly priceless because as we all know, they aren’t with us forever, and having pictures of them to remember them by is such a wonderful keepsake.

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous about posing two people, a horse and a dog the size of a horse without an assistant haha. Thankfully the animals were cooperative for the most part and we ended up with some really great shots with a lot of variety. Here are some of my favorites!

Jinx had some fun of his own at the end when he got away and ran around the field. Thankfully the reins stayed over his neck and he didn’t break the bridle!
