The Thompson Family

Not only are Kevin and Lauren past clients, but more importantly they are friends and a wonderful couple. I did a family session for them last July at First Landing State Park (I can’t believe how big Will and Sophia have gotten since then!) and it’s that time of year again for family pictures. They have such a beautiful family! This time they had more than one reason to get the family together for portraits. Lauren has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and is having surgery today to remove it. They wanted to get pictures done before the surgery and the (hopefully short) road to recovery. Of course I was honored to do their family session when they asked if I was available.

Lauren’s family was in town as well, so they all piled in the car and headed to the beach for pictures! Even though their Fort Story session didn’t work out as planned, we still had perfect weather and a beautiful evening at First Landing State Park for their pictures. Just watching Lauren’s family interact I could tell she has such a great support system that will help her through this. Please keep Lauren in your prayers as she has surgery and overcomes this hurdle in which I know will be a long and amazing life.

We had to do a remake of their picture from last year, which is still one of my favorites to date! They have grown so much!

Lauren, you are such a strong woman! I know you will overcome this and recover quickly. You are in our thoughts and prayers! <3

Kick cancer’s ass girl!!
