Katie and Brandon’s Fort Story engagement pictures in Virginia Beach were so much fun! They drove from out of town for their session while I was in Hampton Roads and available for pictures. What’s even better is they made it happen a day earlier than planned so we could take advantage of the sunny skies before the thunderstorms moved in. I have photographed Katie before with her horse and Great Dane. Since then, she has gotten engaged and added another adorable Great Dane to the family!
Brandon is such a nice guy and you can tell how much he adores Katie just by being around him. They are planning to have their wedding in April on the beach, so a beach engagement session fit great with the theme. We chose the beach at Fort Story, where the historic Cape Henry Lighthouse is located because Katie loved the big rocks that definitely set it apart from the other beaches in the area.
Although it was hot and very humid the night of their session, it was much better than rain. Katie and Brandon were troopers for dealing with the humidity, and also for making their session happen a day early. Here are some of my favorites from their session.

I just wanted to take these sweet pups home with me! I think Dozer and Axel would love them.
The dogs were so great even though they were hot with the rest of us. Look at those tongues!
Can we talk about how good of a job Brandon did on that ring?!
I love the double lighthouses at Fort Story, it’s just one of the things that makes it so special.
I had to get a side shot of the gorgeous band on Katie’s ring. So pretty!
We had the perfect glow from a gorgeous sunset!
Katie and Brandon, you two are so amazing! I absolutely loved working with you and I am so honored you had me capture your engagement pictures. I’m so excited to see how gorgeous your wedding will be!
